Concept

FLOPs

FLOPs stands for floating-point operations: a raw count of the arithmetic (multiplies and adds on floating-point numbers) needed to run a computation. Note the lowercase s is a plural count, not "per second"; FLOP/s or FLOPS is the rate.

The rest of “FLOPs” is a premium feature: every concept in the library gets a precise, practitioner-focused write-up like this one, cross-linked straight from the paper summaries that use it.
